REASI: A Farmers’ Training-cum-Exposure Visit comprising 40 farmers from District Reasi was flagged off today by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sushil Kesar. The visit has been organised by the Horticulture Department Reasi under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) Scheme for the year 2026–27.

During the exposure visit, the participating farmers will visit Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), the Central Institute for Temperate Horticulture (CITH), Srinagar and the Indo-Italian Farm Ramban. The visit will provide farmers with first-hand exposure to modern horticultural practices, advanced cultivation techniques, improved production technologies and innovative interventions in the horticulture sector.

The primary objective of the programme was to enhance the technical knowledge and practical skills of farmers by familiarizing them with scientific farming methods, modern horticultural technologies and successful cultivation practices. The initiative is expected to encourage the adoption of improved techniques for enhancing productivity, improving the quality of horticultural produce and increasing farmers’ income.
