SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, today convened a meeting to review the ongoing construction of new 50 bedded building at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Habak, Hazratbal, Srinagar.

The meeting was attended by MLA Hazratbal Salman Ali Sagar and senior officers, including the Chief Engineer, R&B Central, Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineer, Director Planning (R&B) Chief Town Planner and other officers.

Detailed deliberations were held on progress of the hospital building project, its implementation and coordination among the concerned departments. The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss the issues related to construction and the steps required for smooth execution of the project.

The hospital upgradation project, with a revised cost of ₹54.49 crore, envisages a modern four-storey facility with two basement levels and a capacity of 50 beds. The project, which had remained stalled for a considerable period, has recently resumed following the necessary relaxations approved by the Council of Ministers.

Emphasising the importance of strengthening the public healthcare infrastructure, the Deputy Chief Minister discussed the need for effective coordination among the concerned departments to facilitate the project's progress and ensure that the people of Hazratbal and adjoining areas benefit from improved healthcare facilities. The meeting forms part of the government's efforts to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure and improve access to quality medical services across Jammu and Kashmir.
