SOPORE: In continuation of the ongoing mass anti-drug campaign under the 100-day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Police in Sopore further intensified awareness and enforcement activities across Police District Sopore.

Series of awareness programs and outreach activities were organized at multiple locations in collaboration with the Education and Rural Development Departments. Programmes were held in Behrampora and Nadihal (Sub Division Rafiabad) and Chankhan, Wagub, and Bomai (Sub Division Sopore), witnessing active participation from students, local residents, and other stakeholders.

An anti-drug rally was also organized, reflecting strong public resolve against substance abuse. Awareness sessions conducted at various institutions remained interactive, with participants sharing their concerns and expressing support for sustained action against the drug menace.

Police, while continuing strong enforcement against drug trafficking, are simultaneously undertaking extensive awareness drives to address the issue at the societal level. As part of the campaign, checking of drug stores and medical shops was also carried out to ensure compliance with norms and prevent misuse of pharmaceutical drugs. Youth were encouraged to stay away from harmful influences and adopt a healthy, drug-free lifestyle, while the community was urged to actively support the ongoing efforts.

Police reaffirmed their commitment to sustained awareness, community engagement and strict enforcement under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan to ensure a safer, healthier and drug-free society.
