BUDGAM: As part of the ongoing 100-day campaign under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Police in Budgam organized village-level Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meetings at Sonpah (Beerwah), Khag, and Checkmarg (Hardpanzoo).

These meetings were aimed at strengthening police-public coordination, addressing local concerns, enhancing community participation, and curbing the drug menace at the grassroots level. During the sessions, officers laid special emphasis on sensitizing participants about the growing menace of substance abuse, particularly among the youth. They highlighted the adverse impact of drug addiction on individuals, families, and society at large, and stressed the need for collective responsibility and community-driven efforts to combat this serious issue.

In addition, pledge-taking ceremonies were conducted at Government Degree College Khansahib and across all Higher Secondary Schools in Sub-Division Khansahib. Students, faculty, and staff participated enthusiastically and took a solemn pledge to work towards eradicating drug abuse and promoting a drug-free society.

Participants were further sensitized about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraged to actively support J&K Police in eliminating the drug menace. Youth were urged to stay away from narcotics and other harmful substances and to act as ambassadors of positive change within their communities.
