• Urges young generation to shun drugs, focus on nation-building through positive engagement

JAMMU: In a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship and community spirit, JKPCC Kissan Congress Chairman Bharat Priye attended the final match of the Under-14 Cricket Tournament at Garkhal in Akhnoor Sub-Division, where he felicitated the winning and runner-up teams along with standout performers. The tournament concluded on an exciting note, with Sua No. 1 defeating Bhalwal Bharth in a closely contested final, drawing enthusiastic cheers from a large gathering of local residents and sports lovers.

Bharat Priye distributed prizes to both teams and presented the Man of the Match and Man of the Series awards, lauding the young players for their passion, discipline, and emerging talent. He remarked that such platforms are crucial in identifying and nurturing hidden talent, especially in rural areas where opportunities often remain limited.

Addressing the gathering, Bharat Priye underscored the growing importance of organizing sports tournaments at the grassroots level. He stated that in rural regions, such initiatives serve as a powerful tool to engage youth in meaningful activities, keeping them away from the menace of drug abuse and other social evils.

He emphasized that rural sports events not only promote physical fitness but also instill values like teamwork, leadership, and resilience among youngsters. “When youth are involved in constructive pursuits like sports, they develop confidence, discipline, and a sense of responsibility, which are essential for nation-building,” he said.

Highlighting the broader social impact, Bharat Priye added that such tournaments strengthen community bonding and create a positive environment where young minds can thrive. He called upon local organizations and authorities to encourage and support more such events to ensure that rural talent gets the recognition and opportunities it deserves.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included Nath, Sumandeep, Dalbir Singh, Natha Singh, and Sohan Singh, along with several respected members of the area, who appreciated the initiative and extended their support for promoting sports culture at the grassroots level.
