JAMMU: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Raman Suri has extended his heartiest congratulations to the Jammu Kashmir Cricket Team for their historic victory in the prestigious Ranji Trophy. Calling it a “monumental and emotional moment” for the people of Jammu Kashmir, he said that this triumph has fulfilled a dream that the region had been nurturing for decades.

Raman Suri said that Jammu Kashmir had been waiting for this proud moment since its participation in domestic cricket began in the 1950s. Generations of talented cricketers worked tirelessly, often in challenging circumstances, hoping to see the day when J&K would lift the coveted Ranji Trophy. That long wait has finally ended, bringing immense pride and joy to every household across the Union Territory (UT).

He congratulated the entire team, players, coaches, support staff, and management for their extraordinary performance, discipline, and determination. “This victory is not just a sporting achievement but a symbol of resilience, unity, and the indomitable spirit of our youth,” Mr. Suri said. He also extended special congratulations to the executives and chief of the Jammu Kashmir Cricket Council (JKCC) for their leadership and support in nurturing local talent.

Mr. Suri urged the authorities to take this historic win as an opportunity to further strengthen cricketing infrastructure in the region. “At this moment of celebration, I also appeal to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to provide deserving opportunities, including residential plots, cash prices and government jobs to the talented boys who have brought laurels to Jammu Kashmir. Their dedication and hard work deserve recognition and tangible support,” he said.

Raman Suri emphasized that this victory will go a long way in promoting cricket in Jammu Kashmir and inspiring thousands of youngsters to pursue sports as a career. “When our youth see their own heroes lifting national trophies, it ignites hope and ambition. This win will encourage more young boys and girls to take up cricket and other sports with renewed enthusiasm,” he added.

He further urged the Jammu Kashmir Government to organize a grand and rousing welcome for the victorious team, befitting their historic achievement. “The entire Union Territory must celebrate this milestone. A grand reception will not only honour the players but also motivate future generations,” he said. He called upon the government to accelerate the development of modern cricket grounds and training facilities across Jammu, Kashmir, and remote districts. “If we invest in world-class infrastructure, coaching academies, and grassroots programs, Jammu Kashmir can consistently produce outstanding cricket players who will shine at the national and international levels,” he asserted.
