GANDERBAL: Continuing its firm commitment towards a drug-free society, police in Ganderbal has intensified its efforts under the initiative “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan” by launching a series of enforcement and awareness measures across the district.

As part of the drive, surprise checking of vehicles and individuals was conducted in and around the Degree College Ganderbal and Central University Campus vicinity to deter drug peddling and substance abuse. The checks were carried out meticulously to ensure a strong vigil in sensitive zones, particularly near Educational Institutions.

In addition, a special drive was undertaken to enforce the ban on sale of tobacco products near educational institutions. Strict action is being ensured against violators to safeguard the youth from the harmful effects of tobacco and drugs.

Simultaneously, awareness programs were conducted in various markets across the district, where officers sensitized shopkeepers, youth, and the general public about the ill effects of drug abuse and the legal consequences associated with narcotics and tobacco violations.

Police reiterates its appeal to the public to cooperate in this noble mission and share any information related to drug trafficking or substance abuse, ensuring a safer and healthier society for all.
