SRINAGAR: Under the patronage of Prof Dr Iffat Hassan Principal/Dean Govt Medical College Srinagar, World Cancer Day was commemorated at Lal Ded Hospital by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, with a dedicated awareness program. The event aimed to educate attendees on cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment strategies, aligning with this year's theme, "United by Unique."
Prof. Dr. Masuma Rizvi, Head of the Department (HOD), Obstetrics and Gynaecology, GMC Srinagar, delivered an insightful session on cancer risk factors, preventive measures, and the importance of early diagnosis. She emphasized the critical role of regular screenings, lifestyle modifications, and timely medical interventions in reducing cancer-related mortality.
