- Slams absence of PCB officials from Final's presentation ceremony
JAMMU: Advocate Purnima Sharma, spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu and Kashmir, today extended heartfelt congratulations to the Indian Cricket Team for their remarkable victory in the ICC Champions Trophy held in Dubai.
In a statement, Advocate Sharma expressed immense pride in the team's performance, highlighting the pivotal role played by the spin bowlers in the final against New Zealand. The combined efforts of Whole team laid the foundation for India's successful chase, culminating in a well-deserved triumph.
"This victory is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and unity of our cricket team. They have made the nation proud, and we celebrate this momentous achievement with great joy," Advocate Sharma stated.
In addition to her congratulations, Advocate Sharma criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the absence of its officials from the Champions Trophy 2025 final's presentation ceremony. She remarked that while Pakistan aspires to host international events, the current state of its cricket infrastructure tells a different story. She asserted that stadiums in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi were not adequately prepared to host international matches, with ongoing construction and renovations falling behind schedule.
The senior BJP leader asked Pakistan to cease its support for terrorism on Indian soil, warning that failure to do so could lead to the nation's decline, mirroring the deteriorated condition of its cricket grounds. She emphasized the importance of fostering peace and stability in the region for the betterment of all. Purnima wished the Indian Cricket Team continued success in their future endeavors and expressed hope that they will keep bringing laurels to the nation.
