UDHAMPUR: An Awareness Camp cum special drive under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme was organized today by District Industries Centre (DIC) Udhampur at Government Degree College Ramnagar. Over one hundred students participated in the programme.
The special drive, held under the overall supervision of General Manager DIC Kishore Singh Katoch, focused on encouraging students to act as ambassadors of PMEGP Scheme in the society and motivate out going graduates to avail self employment opportunity under the scheme.
Industrial Promotion Officer Rajeshwar Singh, the resource person, provided detailed presentation and insights into the eligibility criteria, application process, financial assistance, and subsidies available under PMEGP. The GM DIC also emphasized the importance of government initiatives in supporting young entrepreneurs.
The Principal of the College Dr. Bhavnaish Chand Anthal rendered full support and active co-operation to make the programme a success. He encouraged students to act as active messengers to disseminate the information about the PMEGP scheme among the local un-employed youth. He also highlighted the role of the scheme in promoting rural and urban entrepreneurship, thereby, contributing to economic growth and employment generation.
The faculty members Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Dr. Kewal Kumar, Dr. Rakesh Pandita, Dr. Puyesh Kant, Manmohan Singh, Anise Choudhary and Tanmeet Kour also attended the programme.
