JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu inaugurated the Advanced Management Development Programme under the Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP) of the Development Commissioner MSME, Government of India, at its Jagti Campus on 09th March 2026.The inaugural ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and collective wisdom.
The five-day residential programme being conducted from 09th March to 13th March 2026 has brought together 25 participants from diverse regions across India, including Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, West Bengal,Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, reflecting the programme’s wide national outreach and diverse participation.The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy (EE&C). Programme Directors, Dr. Praveen Kumar and Ms. Shivani Sacheva, IIM Jammu also graced the inaugural ceremony.
Dr. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy (EE&C), IIM Jammu, extended a heartfelt welcome to the participants and highlighted the timeless Indian ethos of Atithi Devo Bhava and Guru Devo Bhava. In his address, he encouraged participants to aspire to become job creators rather than job seekers, emphasizing the importance of innovation and entrepreneurial thinking.He also shared a brief overview of his professional journey and highlighted the role of Executive Education and Consultancy at IIM Jammu, noting that such programmes aim to act as a bridge between knowledge, industry practices, and professional development. He further emphasized the importance of peer learning, encouraging participants to actively share their experiences and insights so that the programme becomes a collaborative platform for mutual learning and growth.
Dr. Praveen Kumar, Program Director, IIM Jammu shared the overview of the five-day programme and highlighted the significance of Management Development Programmes (MDPs) in helping professionals continuously update their knowledge and skills. He also emphasized the growing relevance of Artificial Intelligence–based applications, noting that the programme aims to equip participants with contemporary insights and practical understanding of AI in today’s evolving professional landscape.
The session witnessed participants sharing their introductions and expectations. The inaugural programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Program Director Ms. Shivani Sacheva, IIM Jammu.
The outreach and initial engagements with MSMEs across India for the programme were facilitated by Dr. Atanu Dutta, Officer (I/c) for the Advanced MDPs at IIM Jammu. It is being coordinated by the Executive Education & Consultancy Office of IIM Jammu. The Advanced Management Development Programme aims to equip entrepreneurs with strategic insights, managerial competencies, and collaborative networks to accelerate enterprise growth and contribute effectively to India’s MSME ecosystem.
