KISHTWAR: As a part of the ongoing J&K green initiative, the District Administration Kishtwar, in collaboration with Civil Society, organised a plantation drive here at the Mini Secretariat- New Deputy Commissioner Office Complex.
Saplings were planted within the DC Office premises to increase green cover, promote urban plantation and maintain ecological balance. The initiative forms part of the UT Governmentâs continued commitment to environmental conservation and eco-friendly practices.
The Deputy Commissioner led the plantation drive by planting the first sapling. He highlighted the importance of tree plantation in addressing climate change, improving air quality and conserving natural resources.
He urged the government departments and the citizens to actively participate in such initiatives to contribute towards a greener future. The plantation drive witnessed active participation from ADC, Pawan Kotwal; CPO, Akhil Thakur; PO ICDS, Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma and other district officers.
The programme highlighted the collective efforts of the district administration and civil society in promoting environmental awareness and encouraging community participation for sustainable development.
