The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

JAMMU: A meeting of the General Advisory Committee of the All Jammu and Kashmir Ravidass Sabha (AJKRS) was held today at the headquarters of the Sabha in Krishna Nagar, Jammu. The meeting was chaired by Er. R.C. Bhasin and attended by several senior members and representatives.

The special meeting was convened to deliberate on important issues concerning the organization, particularly the alleged unauthorized activities of former president Piran Ditta and his associates. Members expressed concern over the reported misuse of the Sabha’s letterhead and the continued projection of himself as president despite being removed from the position on December 29, 2024. The current executive body, it was noted, was elected unanimously in the general house meeting held on February 1, 2026.

Participants strongly criticized these actions, stating that such activities are unethical and detrimental to the dignity and reputation of the Sabha. Prominent members, including M.R. Bangotra, Tulsi Dass Langeh, Dr. Chander Prakash, Dr. Rajinder Samyal, Mohan Lal Hans, and Bihari Lal Digra, voiced their support for the present executive committee. They emphasized that the current leadership represents more than 4.5 lakh members of the Ravidassia community in the Union Territory and is working effectively for their welfare.

The members collectively resolved to take all necessary steps to end any actions that undermine the organization's integrity. They also stressed the importance of holding regular meetings to review progress and strengthen organizational functioning.

Among others present in the meeting were Tarsem Loach, Prof. C.L. Shivgotra, Prof. G.L. Thapa, Tara Chand, Surjeet Singh Heer, Bodh Raj Kalsi, Mahesh Shivgotra, Sewa Dass Digra, Charan Dass Shivgotra, Jagat Ram, Kaka Ram, Suresh Shivgotra, Puran Chand Amarnath, Pyare Lal Angral, Darshan Lal Gorka, and other members. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of unity and commitment to uphold the values and dignity of the Sabha.
