BARAMULLA: District Administration Baramulla will organize an Orientation cum Training Programme for selected Haj Pilgrims of Haj-2025 to provide proper guidance and information to the pilgrims. The first phase will be held on 15th February 2025 at 10:00 AM at Jamia Hamdania Masjid Sharief Kunzer for pilgrims from Pattan, Khoie, Wagoora, Kreeri, Singhpora, Tangmarg, Kunzer, and Karhama tehsils.

The second phase is scheduled for 17th February 2025 at 10:00 AM at Masjid-e-Baitul Mukarram, Baramulla for the pilgrims from Baramulla, Boniyar, Wagoora, Dangiwacha, Rohama, Sopore, Watergam, Zaingeer, Dangarpora, and Uri tehsils. The District Administration Baramulla urges selected Haj pilgrims to attend the training at their respective venues on the scheduled dates and time. The programme has been organized to provide essential guidance and ensure a smooth and well-coordinated pilgrimage.

When he appointed me Editor-in-Chief of JK Monitor, he never treated me as an employee, but as a younger brother, offering warmth, trust, respect and invaluable guidance. I will always be grateful for his faith in me, his encouragement and the lessons he shared.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

For me, he will always be the elder brother who believed in me and guided me with affection. I will cherish his kindness and lessons forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
