DODA: The District Election Office Doda, under the supervision of District Election Officer Harvinder Singh, organized a comprehensive training session for micro-observers assigned to election duties for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir General Assembly Elections 2024. The session aimed to equip the micro-observers with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure a fair and smooth election process.

The training was conducted at both the Community Hall and Town Hall in Doda, under the guidance of District level  Nodal Officer Anil Gupta. During the session, micro-observers received detailed instructions on their roles and responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on vigilance and neutrality in executing their duties. They were also briefed on election protocols and procedures for reporting any irregularities or issues that may arise on the day of polling.

Dr. Akhter Hussain Akhoon, District Nodal Officer for Trainings and Human Resources, provided an in-depth presentation on the technical aspects of election monitoring. This included the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), voter identification procedures, and the legal framework governing the election process. He stressed the importance of maintaining accuracy in documenting the voting process and ensuring transparency and accountability at each polling station.

The session also covered discussions on specific scenarios that micro-observers might encounter during the elections, such as managing crowd control, handling disputes, and addressing any attempts at electoral malpractice. The micro-observers were encouraged to familiarize themselves with the geography and demographics of their assigned polling areas to better understand voting patterns and potential challenges.
