SRINAGAR: As a mark of honour and part of commemorating the sacrifices of police martyrs, police in Kupwara inaugurated Police Martyrs Football Tournament at the Football Ground, Government Higher Secondary School, Kupwara.
The inauguration ceremony was led by SSP Kupwara Shri Ghulam Jeelani Wani-JKPS. The event kicked off with an inaugural match between Yamin FC Lalpora and Trehgam FC, where Yamin FC emerged victorious with a scoreline of 2-1. The tournament is witnessing the participation of 16 football teams from across the district.
The inaugural ceremony saw presence of several officers from District Police including Addl SP Kupwara Shri Gh Mohd Bhat-JKPS, DySP DAR Kupwara Syed Mujahid-ul-Haq-JKPS, DySP Hqrs Kupwara Rafee Rather-JKPS, along with other officers from District Police Kupwara.
This tournament not only commemorates the sacrifices made by our police martyrs but also serves as a platform for promoting peace, unity, and engagement within the community.
