SRINAGAR: Continuing its endeavour to educate the masses on the new three criminal laws viz. Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023 and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023, a mass awareness programme was organized by District Administration on the directions of Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat at S P College here today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Khalid Hussain Malik was the chief guest on the occasion. Principal S P College, Prof. (Dr) Farooq Ahmad Mir; Head Department of Forensic, GMC Srinagar, Prof. (Dr) Arsalan F Rashid; SDPO Kothibagh, Yasir Ahmad; Chief Prosecuting Officer, Mohammad Lateef Lone; Assistant Prosecuting Officer, Angad Shan; Deputy Chief LADC, District Service Legal Authority, Srinagar, Tasneem Kausar; Penal Lawyer, District Service Legal Authority, Gazala Mumtaz Khan and others participated the awareness programme.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC emphasized the need for creating awareness among the general public regarding transformative reforms having a positive impact on all in general and specifically on the women and children. He highlighted that the new criminal laws provide a lot of protection to women and minors through special provisions in the Act. Other speakers also presented a detailed talk about the three new criminal laws and how they will protect the citizens and ensure transparent and speedy justice.
