DODA: A public outreach program under the aegis of weekly Block Diwas was organized here today at Gadi Block Bhagwah. Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, leading a team of officers of different departments, listened to the concerns and grievances of the locals and those from the adjoining Panchayats. The locals projected a wide range of demands seeking road connectivity, water supply, Anganwadi centre, up-grading of healthcare services and the construction of roads under the PMGSY scheme.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the public that their demands would be addressed promptly. He emphasized that the proposed road projects under the NABARD scheme would be completed in stipulated time frame, with all obstacles resolved before work begins. He informed that roads developed under NABARD would be handed over to PMGSY for maintenance and completion. Singh also assured that healthcare facilities in the area would be strengthened, with posting of sanctioned strength of doctors in all health centres. He was directed by the BMO to ensure punctuality and the availability of medical staff.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed officers to expedite the execution of MGNREGA works, ensuring job creation for local residents. Additionally, he directed the concerned officers to provide essential water and toilet facilities in public areas and ensure that all social welfare schemes reach the beneficiaries at their doorsteps. Singh also stressed on promoting local products, particularly walnuts, and directed officers to provide all necessary support for the marketing of local produce.
The DC further informed the public about the establishment of Kisan Kidhmat Ghar Centres under the Agriculture Department, encouraging individuals with agricultural skills to apply for positions in the centres. He stressed the importance of completing road connectivity to tourist spots such as Lal Draman, with the aim to enhance tourism while preserving the natural beauty of the meadows.
