KISHTWAR: A Special Awareness Camp was organized here today at Model Panchayat Sigdi B1 of Block Mughalmaidan to spread awareness regarding the flagship initiative to develop 13 Gram Panchayats as Model Panchayats in the district.
The camp was attended by Block Development Officer (BDO) Mughalmaidan, Naib Tehsildar Sigdi, TSO Mughalmaidan, VLW Nodal Sigdi B1 and several other Officers/staff of RDD, Revenue, Health, Social Welfare, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Employment, Labour, Forest, Fisheries Department and ex-PRIs, prominent citizens and general public.
The aim of the Camp was to spread awareness among the locals regarding the development of Model Panchayats wherein the different departments have been given the target to improve upon 78 indicators in a mission mode. The official representatives shared benefits of major schemes being run by their respective departments and also reviewed the progress of the same in Gram Sabha. The departments assured effective implementation of the schemes to benefit the maximum number of locals.
The Model Panchayat initiative envisages the saturation of all schemes, benefiting the local community. During the programme, the constitution of the Village Level Monitoring Committee of Model Panchayat Sigdi B1 involving local residents, members of SC/ST, retired Employees, Teachers, Women and Ex-PRIs was also publicised. Also, the initiative of "Catch The Rain" (CTR), Intensive Afforestation was discussed alongwith challenges involved for its on ground implementation.
The VLW Sigdi B1 was directed to identify the gaps and submit additional works under Rainwater Harvesting, plantation, and ensure Grey Water Management under SBM-G, cleanliness of panchayat wih the help of community participation.GPDP Plan Formulation of the Panchayat Sigdi B1 was also discussed in the Camp.
Several public issues such as issuance of e-Shram Cards, Labour Cards, Ujjwala Scheme Gas Cylinder Connections, Job Card Demands, Awaas Plus installments were also addressed at the camp. BDO Mughalmaidan also inspected progress of MGNREGA works in the Panchayat.
