BANDIPORA: Forest Department Bandipora in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora and NHPC today organised a plantation drive at NHPC Bandipora. The plantation drive led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri was aimed to promote environmental sustainability and green initiatives.
On the occasion, DC highlighted the ongoing efforts to contribute to a greener future and fostering eco-friendly practices. Addressing the gathering, the DC emphasized the critical role of such initiatives in combating climate change and promoting biodiversity.
Planting trees is not just an act of greening our surroundings; it’s an investment in our planet’s future, He added. On the occasion participants planted a variety of species, aimed at enhancing ecosystems and supporting long-term environmental health.
The event also featured a speech competition with the theme 'Protect Forests, Feed the Future' and a skit presented by students from Army Goodwill School Bandipora. The event concluded with an award ceremony recognizing the efforts of the participants.
Among others the event was attended by Commandant CISF, DFO Bandipora, CPO, CEO, HoP NHPC, students from various institutions, forest officials, NHPC officials and other concerned.
