KULGAM: A meeting regarding the implementation of the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) was held today at Kulgam under the chairmanship of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Vikar Ahmad Giri.
The meeting focused on increasing apprenticeship opportunities for local youth, registration of eligible establishments, mobilisation of candidates and greater participation of government departments, educational institutions and local industries under NAPS.
The ADC directed all concerned departments to identify suitable apprenticeship opportunities, encourage eligible establishments to register on the apprenticeship portal and ensure effective coordination for timely implementation of the scheme.
The officers were also directed to undertake awareness and mobilisation activities and submit regular progress regarding establishment registrations and apprentice engagements. The meeting emphasized NAPS as an important initiative for enhancing the skills, employability and livelihood opportunities of local youth.
The meeting was attended by the CEO Kulgam, Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Lead District Manager, Iftikhar Ahmad Padder, SE R&B Javid Ahmad, Executive Engineers of R&B, Jal Shakti, Irrigation and KPDCL, Principal Government Polytechnic, AD Handicrafts & Handloom, Superintendent ITI Kulgam, District Officer KVIB and DPM NRLM.
