POONCH: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Vikas Kundal reviewed the progress of works taken up under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Scheme in the district, here at a meeting. The meeting brought together the concerned officials to discuss the status of key water supply projects and address ongoing challenges. The District Development Commissioner listed the components of the JJM, and inquired about the status of borewells, mechanical works, and electric substations. He also addressed issues related to land that have hindered progress and discussed the Har Ghar Jal mission along with other ongoing projects in the district.

The DDC directed the Xen Ground Water to investigate discrepancies, if any, in the borewell plan at Pindi and urged the team to expedite works in Kalai. He emphasized the importance of regular water supply, instructing the executive engineers to prioritize efforts in order to alleviate public concerns regarding water scarcity. Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner set a deadline of January 22, 2025, for the completion of the town plan and urged the Xen Ground Water to initiate tenders for all associated schemes.
