DODA: The District Administration Doda today organized a comprehensive capacity-building workshop on the implementation of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (PMGS-NMP) here in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex.
The Workshop was attended by the Assistant Commissioner (Revenue); District Panchayat Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Assar along with Officers and representatives from PWD (R&B), Hydraulic, JPDCL, PHE, Irrigation, PMGSY, Mechanical, REW, Education, Health, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Social Welfare, Youth Services and Sports, Planning, Statistics, Transport, Fisheries, Handlooms, Handicrafts and other concerned departments.
The session aimed to strengthen integrated infrastructure planning, promote multi-modal connectivity and enhance coordination among various government departments for the effective and time-bound execution of development projects across the district.
General Manager District Industries Centre (DIC) Mohammad Asfaq Khanzi participated as the District Nodal Officer as designated by Directorate of Industries and Commerce Jammu.
The Technical Officer of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan provided an overview of the PM Gati Shakti portal and briefed the participants on its various features and procedures for handling and updating data on the portal.
The workshop focused on familiarizing officers with GIS-based spatial planning tools, integrated digital data platforms and geo-tagged infrastructure mapping under the PM Gati Shakti framework. Detailed discussions were held on the importance of sharing departmental data, identifying infrastructure gaps, avoiding duplication of projects, improving last-mile connectivity and ensuring coordinated planning of roads, utilities and other public infrastructure.
The participants were also sensitized to the importance of technology-driven and evidence-based planning for better prioritization, monitoring and implementation of developmental projects.
The session emphasized that effective adoption of the PM Gati Shakti approach would facilitate whole-of-government coordination, optimum utilization of resources, faster project execution, improved connectivity and greater transparency in infrastructure planning. The district officers and stakeholders were advised to ensure timely updating of relevant data and maintain close inter-departmental coordination for aligning district-level projects with the objectives of the National Master Plan.
