KULGAM: An awareness programme on disaster preparedness was today conducted by SDRF/HG Unit Kulgam at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Ashmuji, Kulgam, in which around 150 students participated.
During the programme, informative lectures and practical demonstrations were delivered on disaster management and mitigation, First Aid, CPR/BLS, earthquake safety and precautionary measures, fire safety, floodsâtheir causes, effects and preventive/protective measures, and drowning incidents and their prevention.
The students were also sensitised about the importance of preparedness, timely response and basic life-saving skills during emergencies. The Principal of the Institution appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of conducting such informative awareness programmes for the welfare of the general public and for enhancing disaster preparedness among students and staff. The programme was conducted under the supervision of Dy.SP DAR Kulgam.
