BANDIPORA: A six-day Management Development Programme (MDP) under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) initiative commenced today at Waqar Knowledge Centre, Mini Secretariat Bandipora, with the objective of enhancing managerial skills and strengthening the capacities of existing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The 30-hour capacity-building programme is being conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), with 22 participants attending the 12th MDP in the district. So far, 215 candidates have been trained under the initiative in Bandipora.

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, interacted with the participants during the inaugural session and encouraged them to participate in the training with zeal and enthusiasm. Emphasising the importance of practical learning, she urged the trainees to make the best use of the programme to acquire skills and knowledge that could be applied to their respective business ventures.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for developing workable and result-oriented business ideas and directed the participants to focus on establishing and expanding their own enterprises. She assured them that the District Administration would provide necessary guidance and extend support in taking their business ideas forward after the successful completion of the training programme.

She also emphasised the effective use of digital platforms to expand market reach, improve business visibility and enhance profitability. She encouraged the participants to explore innovative approaches to business development and identify opportunities for growth and diversification.

During the programme, JKEDI trainers will work individually with the participants to formulate new or revised business plans tailored to their enterprise requirements. The training is designed to help MSME owners improve productivity and profitability while providing a structured roadmap for business expansion and diversification.

The programme is expected to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the district by equipping existing business owners with practical managerial skills and enabling them to explore sustainable growth opportunities.
