JAMMU: Jammu & Kashmir Science, Technology and Innovation Council Department of Science & Technology Udhampur organized a one day awareness programme on the theme drug abuse & drug addiction at Government Higher Secondary School Tikri. The Principal of the School Monika Karlupia, in her welcome address, expressed gratitude to J&K Science Technology & Innovation Council Department of Science & Technology and Health Department for their involvement in organizing the event. The event was graced by Member DDC Ashu Sharma, District Coordinator Shruti Khanna, BMO Tikri, I/C Police Post Tikri and prominent persons of the civil society Tikri.
The event aimed to impart awareness regarding ill effects on individuals struggling with drug addiction, their families and on the society as a whole. Dr. Bhanu Partap from SMVD Narayana superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal (Katra) was the guest of honor at the event. In his awareness presentation he educated the young minds about drug abuse and drug addiction and encouraged them to choose health, happiness, harmony over harm, with the pledge (Say no Drugs). Dr Shashim Medical Officer PHC Tikri also shared his valuable experience regarding the objective of today's event. Students of the institution actively participated in the awareness campaign. The Programme was concluded by vote of thanks.
