JAMMU: Cricmax Connect, a first-of-its-kind grassroots initiative, has officially launched to bring cricket into the core of American school sports and youth development programs. Designed as a turnkey model for education systems, Cricmax Connect equips schools, districts, and recreation departments with everything they need — from trained coaches and PE curriculum to AI-powered learning tools and cricket gear.
The initiative will be formally introduced at a curtain-raiser event on June 26 at the Consulate General of India in New York. It will be followed by major public showcases, including a Cricket Showcase & Flag Hoisting Ceremony in Times Square on August 15, and youth-focused participation at the Park Avenue India Day Parade on August 17, spotlighting cricket’s potential to shape student engagement and cultural education.
A Scalable Model for American Schools
Cricmax Connect is built for schools — integrating seamlessly into physical education classes, after-school programs, and summer camps. Its an inclusive, easy-to-adopt model that offers educators a structured, enriching introduction to one of the world’s most popular sports.
“Cricket has never had an on-ramp into U.S. schools — and we saw that as a huge opportunity,” said Vinay Bhimjiani, Founder & CEO of Cricmax Connect and former CEO of USA Cricket. “We’ve created a model that educators can actually implement — complete with curriculum, coaching support, and cultural context. It’s not just about sport. It’s about identity, teamwork, and giving students a new sense of confidence and belonging.”
Cricmax Connect has already introduced over 10,000 students in Los Angeles to cricket through pilot summer programs, and is now expanding to New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Chicago.
Cricket and the Olympic Momentum
With cricket set to return to the LA Olympics, Cricmax Connect is helping American schools ride the momentum of a global sport re-entering the Olympic stage. The initiative aligns with this moment by introducing a scalable pathway for early engagement, allowing students across the U.S. to discover the sport, train in it, and develop long-term skills.
“This is about helping students grow — on and off the field,” said Atul Rai, Chairman, Youth Cricket Development. “Through Cricmax Connect, we’re not just teaching cricket. We’re building character, promoting diversity, and creating new outlets for joy, discipline, and cultural pride.”
Cultural Connection Through Education
Cricmax Connect is also working with the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) to increase cultural visibility around the sport. On August 15, the initiative will celebrate India’s Independence Day with a flag hoisting and youth cricket showcase at Times Square, followed by the Empire State Building Light Flip, and participation in the India Day Parade on August 17. These events are designed to spark curiosity and participation from students, parents, and educators alike.
The FIA is honored to support this transformative initiative,” stated Ankur Vaidya, Chairman of the FIA. “CricMax Connect is revolutionizing the way cricket is introduced into the American educational system. Through its technology-driven and education-focused model, the program is laying the foundation for a bold new paradigm of cultural integration and athletic achievement. By integrating cricket into the lives of emerging generations—Gen Alpha and Gen Beta—from diverse backgrounds, CricMax Connect is helping to preserve and promote a rich sporting tradition, fostering diversity and inclusion for generations to come.
Cricmax Connect’s growing national footprint and its tech-first model are attracting the attention of athletic directors, Olympic committees, and recreation boards alike. With youth engagement at its core and multicultural integration in its DNA, it is poised to redefine how cricket is seen — and played — in the United States.
