JAMMU: A two-day capacity building training programme for officials of Mission Vatsalya and Mission Shakti of the Jammu Province concluded successfully here today. The programme was organised by the Directorate of Mission Vatsalya in collaboration with ELFA International.
The training programme was conducted under the overall guidance of Mission Director, Mission Vatsalya, Nazim Zai Khan. It aimed at strengthening organisational behaviour, legal understanding and practical skills of field-level functionaries dealing with child protection mechanisms, POSH Act implementation, gender-based issues, inter-departmental coordination and effective case management.
The programme was structured over two days dedicated to officials of Mission Vatsalya and Mission Shakti respectively. Besides District Social Welfare/ Child Protection Officer, Preeti Sharma, the participants included Protection Officers, Legal-cum-Probation Officers, Counsellors and nominated officials from various districts of the Jammu Province, who actively engaged in meaningful interactive and effective learning sessions.
While presenting the welcome address, Programme Manager, SARA, UT of J&K, Dr. Anupa Sharma, highlighted the objectives of the training programme, emphasising the importance of continuous capacity building in strengthening institutional response and improving service delivery under Mission Vatsalya and Mission Shakti.
The technical sessions were conducted by Gender Specialist, Mission Shakti, UT of J&K, Samina Mir and CEO, ELFA International, Meharan. They delivered comprehensive sessions on organisational behaviour, gender-sensitive interventions, child protection frameworks, POSH Act compliance and effective case management. The sessions were enriched through interactive discussions and practical examples drawn from field experience.
The programme concluded with interactive deliberations wherein participants shared their field-level experiences and best practices. The participants expressed their gratitude to the Directorate and Mission leadership for organising a timely, well-structured and practically relevant training programme.
