JAMMU: Senior BJP leader Rakesh Mahajan, State Vice-President, BJP J&K UT and Prabhari Yuva Morcha, today released the latest devotional Dogri song (Sherni) titled “Guru Ji Ke Daas Charanon Mein Rehte Hain” at the BJP office, Jammu. The song has been soulfully rendered by renowned Dogri singer Sandhya Sharma, with music composed by Sahil Nath, lyrics penned by Sonu Vikrant, and video directed by K.K. Malhotra. The song has been released on YouTube on the channel “Sandhya Sharma – Voice of Duggar.”
The release ceremony was attended by Narender Singh, BJP State Convener, Sanskriti, Art & Cultural Cell; Raman Singh Salathia, State Awardee, popular singer and Co-Convener, Sanskriti, Art & Cultural Cell, BJP J&K UT; and Sahil Mahajan, Managing Director, Maa Bhavewali Production and Co-Convener, Sanskriti, Art & Cultural Cell, BJP J&K UT. The entire programme was organized under the supervision of Sahil Mahajan.
Sandhya Sharma is a well-known name in the Dogri music fraternity and has earlier gained wide recognition across Jammu and Kashmir for her popular Dogri song “Chhejni.” Her latest devotional Dogri song (Sherni) has been sung on the auspicious occasion of Guru Shukrana Ji and has been dedicated to the disciples of Guru Shukrana Ji not only in Jammu and Kashmir but across the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Mahajan emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir is rich in cultural and musical talent, but many local singers remain limited to the regional level despite their potential. He said that artists like Sandhya Sharma deserve wider platforms and national-level recognition.
Rakesh Mahajan further stated that the Sanskriti, Art & Cultural Cell of BJP J&K UT has been directed to prepare a concrete roadmap to promote local folk and devotional singers from Jammu and Kashmir at the national level. He expressed hope that in the coming days more talented artists from the region will get opportunities to showcase their talent across the country and bring glory to Dogri language and culture.
