BANDIPORA:  Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib today chaired a meeting to review and finalize arrangements for the forthcoming festival of Maha Shivratri (Herath) to ensure smooth facilitation for devotees across the district.

The meeting was held to assess comprehensive arrangements, including sanitation, essential supplies, and coordinated efforts by all departments to ensure the smooth and peaceful observance of the festival on February 15.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized maintaining proper cleanliness and sanitation at temple premises. She emphasized the availability of essential items including walnuts, nadru, fish, marigold flowers, and other festival-related requirements for the community. The DC directed the concerned authorities to carry out dredging of Nallah Ajar to prevent any inconvenience during the celebrations.

The DC directed the Municipal Committee Bandipora to ensure door-to-door waste collection and maintain overall sanitation in the town. Taking note of waste dumping near Hanuman Mandir, Old Hospital Bandipora, she directed officials to take immediate measures to ensure cleanliness in and around the area.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bandipora, Shabir Ahmad Wani, Executive Engineer R&B Bandipora; AD Fisheries; CEO MC Bandipora; Pandit community members and other concerned officers.
