BARAMULLA & BUDGAM: In an effort to enhance public outreach and address community concerns, Police observed Thana Diwas across various jurisdictions in Baramulla and Budgam districts.
Police in Baramulla observed Thana Diwas across various jurisdictions, including police stations of Sheeri, Uri, Kreeri, Kunzer, Tangmarg and Boniyar, and police posts Palhallan, Kongamdara, Uroosa, Kamalkote and Babareshi. The events were chaired by gazetted officers of the district, accompanied by respective SHOs and other police officials. The gathering witnessed the active participation from respectable citizens, traders’ federations and Masjid committees.
In Budgam, police under the supervision of SSP Budgam Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS, organized ‘Thana Diwas’ at Police Stations Khag, Khansahib, Beerwah, Chadoora and Police Post Humhama. The events were chaired by the respective jurisdictional police officers and attended by local citizens, community representatives, members of trade federations, Auqaf committees, and other stakeholders. Police officers and officials were also present.
Speaking at the events, the chairing officers attentively listened the grievances raised by the participants, assuring them that issues concerning the police would be addressed promptly. The officer sought the cooperation from the attendees in eradicating the social evils prevailing in society. They emphasized that Thana Diwas serves as a platform to bridge the gap between police and the public.
Police remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the people and will continue to hold such interactive sessions to build trust and cooperation between the police and the public.
