BANDIPORA: Social Welfare Department Bandipora, through SANKALP Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, organised a two-day Skill Enhancement Training Programme on Cutting & Tailoring at ITI Bandipora. The training programme, organised in collaboration with ITI Bandipora and EDI Bandipora, equipped 60 girls with advanced tailoring skills and entrepreneurship knowledge.
As a step towards self-reliance, 16 under privileged trainees received free sewing machines to help them start their own businesses. During the closing ceremony, trainees who successfully completed the training were felicitated for their dedication and achievements. Additionally, a woman entrepreneur from ITI Bandipora, who excelled in the tailoring business, was honored for inspiring others to pursue self-employment.
Officials from Mission Shakti, ITI, and EDI Bandipora highlighted the importance of skill development and financial independence for women. Participants expressed gratitude, stating that the training and support has boosted their confidence and livelihood prospects.
