BARAMULLA: To commemorate World Environment Day, the District Administration Baramulla, in collaboration with BSF 112 Naga Battalion, organized a plantation drive at Kanthbagh, Baramulla. The initiative aimed to foster environmental consciousness and encourage collective action toward a sustainable future.

The event was graced by the chief guest, S.S. Sirohi, Commandant, Sector Headquarters Baramulla. In his address, Sirohi emphasized the critical importance of environmental conservation and called for a united effort from institutions and individuals to safeguard natural resources for coming generations.

Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council Baramulla, Noveed Aijaz and District Information Officer Baramulla, Iftakhar Naseem, also participated in the plantation drive and reiterated the need for coordinated civic action in protecting the environment. They appreciated the joint efforts of the civil administration and BSF in promoting green practices and community involvement.

Officials from the District Administration, Municipal Council, Information Department, and members of the local community besides A large number of BSF personnel, took part in the drive, planting saplings across the area. The initiative symbolized a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and a greener Baramulla.
