JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association on Friday extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and across the country on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, praying for peace, unity, and prosperity in the region. In a statement, Nasir Khuehami, National Convenor of the Association, said that Eid-ul-Azha holds profound spiritual and moral significance.

It commemorates the unwavering faith, obedience, and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), and serves as a powerful reminder of the values of devotion, submission to the will of Allah, compassion, and sharing with those in need.He emphasized that the festival is not only a time of celebration but also a moment of reflection on our responsibilities towards the less privileged, especially orphans, the poor, and the marginalized. “Eid-ul-Azha urges us to go beyond rituals and embrace the spirit of sacrifice in our daily lives, by putting others before ourselves, standing for truth, and supporting those in need,” he said.

Khuehami urged the people to celebrate Eid with modesty and humility, in line with Islamic teachings that discourage extravagance and wastefulness. “As we offer our sacrifices, let us also sacrifice hatred, ego, and indifference. Let this Eid be an occasion to spread kindness, compassion, and social harmony,” he added. He stressed that festivals like Eid-ul-Azha play a vital role in strengthening the pluralistic and inclusive fabric of India, promoting a spirit of communal harmony, brotherhood, and peaceful coexistence.

“Our collective progress, especially in a diverse region like Jammu and Kashmir, depends on sustained peace, inclusive development, and mutual understanding among communities,” he noted. He also highlighted the need to focus on the aspirations of the youth and to create an environment of opportunity, unity, and hope. “May this Eid-ul-Azha bring renewed strength to overcome our challenges and help us build a society based on justice, dignity, and shared prosperity.”He prayed for the well-being of all and hoped that this sacred festival would inspire people to live with greater empathy, gratitude, and moral courage.
