ANANTNAG: In a significant step towards empowering the tribal communities and safeguarding their constitutional rights, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Anantnag, in collaboration with the Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Vailoo, organised a one-day Tribal Rights Awareness Programme today at Middle School Bidhard.
The central theme of the programme was the âProtection and Enforcement of Tribal Rights Scheme 2015,â and aimed at enlightening the tribal populace about their legal rights and available protections. The event was graced by Fauzia Paul, Sub-Judge and Secretary, DLSA Anantnag, as the chief guest, and Shafeeq Ahmad Malik, Sub-Judge and Chairman TLSC Vailoo, as the guest of honour.
Secretary DLSA Anantnag apprised the tribal community about their special rights and the legal protections available to them. Deputy LADC Anantnag, Abid Rasool Padder; Assistant LADC Anantnag, Jasra Ayoub and Panel Lawyer TLSC Vailoo, Advocate Nazir Ahmad Padder provided valuable insights into the practical aspects of legal rights and remedies available to tribal communities.
Speakers elaborated on the provisions of the Tribal Rights scheme 2015, emphasizing legal safeguards against exploitation, protection of land rights, access to education, healthcare, and livelihood schemes tailored for Scheduled Tribes. They also highlighted the role of Legal Services Authorities in ensuring free legal aid and justice to the marginalized sections of society.
Interactive sessions and open discussions allowed the participants to voice their concerns, seek clarifications, and understand the legal mechanisms available for the protection of their rights. A large number of tribal community members, students, teachers, and locals participated in the event with great enthusiasm.
