- Emphasises timely completion, quality construction
DODA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh conducted a thorough inspection of the under-construction Multi Storey Car Parking Facility in Doda town- a major infrastructure initiative aimed at reducing traffic congestion and improving parking management in the urban center of the district.
During the visit, the DC Doda reviewed the pace and quality of ongoing civil works being executed under the supervision of the Public Works Department (R&B). He directed the executing agency to strictly adhere to the set timelines and maintain the highest quality standards.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Anil Kumar Thakur, Tehsildar, Executive Officer Municipal Council and officials from PWD (R&B) accompanied the DC. The team assessed the technical and structural aspects of the project, including challenges related to material supply, site drainage and alignment with the approved Detailed Project Report (DPR).
While issuing on-spot instructions, the DC emphasized the importance of incorporating an effective rainwater drainage system, ensuring construction site safety and creating integrated entry and exit points for both vehicles and pedestrians. He further instructed the Municipal Council to begin preparations for a comprehensive traffic management plan to be implemented upon project completion, with the goal of optimizing the facilityâs use.
Highlighting the significance of the project, the DC Doda reiterated that the multi storey parking facility is expected to ease congestion, particularly in Bus Stand, Hospital Road, and Market areas, where haphazard parking remains a persistent issue.
