DODA: A one-day awareness workshop on the Prime Minister Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme was held today at Panchayat Udyanpur, Block Udyanpur- Doda. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from farmers, Self Help Group (SHG) members, cooperative societies, and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)—reflecting the community’s growing interest in micro food processing opportunities.

The officers and officials from Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, and representatives from J&K Bank  shared comprehensive information on various government initiatives, with a particular focus on the benefits of the PMFME scheme. District Nodal Officer PMFME, Anayatullah Khanji hailed the scheme as a “game changer” for improving rural livelihoods.

He informed that 34 food processing units have already been established in Doda district, generating employment for over 200 individuals.  Khanji urged participants to fully leverage the scheme’s key benefits, including 35% capital subsidy, Easy access to bank finance, Support in Detailed Project Report (DPR) preparation, Assistance in branding, certification and marketing. Other speaker gave detailed information about documentation requirements, Loan application procedures, obtaining certifications, such as FSSAI licenses and Udyam Registration.
