JAMMU: The unprecedented work towards peace, stability, and developmental transformation witnessed in Jammu & Kashmir over the past decade is the direct result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership, stated Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Media Incharge, BJP Jammu & Kashmir.

He said that the Modi government has not only restored normalcy in the region but has also laid the foundation for J&K to emerge as a global hub of tourism, culture, and economic growth. This unrelenting pace towards peace and progress has continuously irked the terrorists, their sympathizers and their bosses, which resulted in the horrifying targeted martyrdom of tourists in Pahalgam. The Modi government replied fast and hard, at the right spots within Pakistan, giving stern message to the world that every activity to endanger lives of our nationals would be taken as ‘An Act of War’.

Now, in a major initiative to further boost tourism in the Union Territory, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Government of India, is organizing a two-day national conference at the picturesque town of Pahalgam. The event, which will be attended by Tourism Secretaries from all states, aims to explore the vast and diverse tourism potential of Jammu & Kashmir and facilitate national collaboration in this vital sector.

Dr. Mahotra welcomed this high-profile event and termed it as a powerful endorsement of the Union Government’s commitment to inclusive development and regional integration. He said the conference will bring together top policymakers, investors, tourism stakeholders, and experts to explore new frontiers in adventure, religious, heritage, and eco-tourism.

He underscored how the abrogation of Article 370 and the strengthening of the security framework under the Modi government have instilled confidence among tourists, entrepreneurs, and investors. The record-breaking tourist inflow over the past three years is a living testimony to the renewed faith in J&K's safety and hospitality.

Highlighting the broader vision of the Modi government, Dr. Mahotra said that Jammu and Kashmir is being developed as a multi-dimensional tourist destination with focus on religious tourism grids around Vaishno Devi, Amarnath, Shiv Khori, Hazratbal, and other spiritual sites, aimed at fostering cultural harmony and economic empowerment.

He also emphasized the transformative impact of enhanced infrastructure, rail projects like the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla line, upgraded highways, tunnels, and improved air connectivity, which have made travel to J&K faster, safer, and more convenient.

This two-day national tourism meet in Pahalgam is not just an administrative event, it marks a new chapter in India's resolve to position Jammu & Kashmir as a shining symbol of unity, peace, and prosperity.
