- Relief measures stepped up, medical teams strengthened
RAJOURI: In response to the recent outbreak of diarrhoea cases in Dhar Sakri village of Kotranka sub-division, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today visited the affected area to take stock of the situation and review the preparedness of the district administration.
During the visit, the DC inspected the temporary centre established at High School Sakri for the treatment of affected patients. He interacted with the patients and locals to understand their concerns and ensure that adequate medical care and support can be extended.
The DC directed the Block Medical Officer to intensify public awareness about preventive measures and to ensure wide-scale distribution of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) among the villagers. He further instructed the deployment of one physician and one paediatrician in addition to the medical staff already stationed in the area.
To address the suspected contamination of drinking water sources, the DC instructed the Superintending Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, to conduct a thorough inspection of local water sources, ensure proper chlorination and initiate corrective measures wherever necessary. He emphasized the need to activate Pani Samitis and mobilize grassroots workers for community-level engagement and monitoring.
The district administration is closely monitoring the situation and is committed to ensuring the health and safety of all residents through timely intervention and coordinated efforts The DC was accompanied by ADC Kotranka, Dilmir; SE Jal Shakti; Tehsildar Kotranka, Syed Sahil Ali, CMO, Manohar Lal, Dy. SP Shammi Kumar; Executive Engineer Jal Shakti; BMO and other district and sectoral officers.
