REASI: As part of the ongoing ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ campaign, the Department of Social Welfare, in collaboration with the Ayush Department, organized a Yoga and Meditation Camp here at the Polytechnic College. The event drew participation from around 50 students from various educational institutions and was held under the overall supervision of District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), Reasi, Sachin Sharma.
A guided Yoga session was conducted by Majid Malik, a certified Yoga Instructor from the Ayush Department. The session emphasized both physical well-being and mental clarity, equipping students with techniques that promote discipline, self-control and a drug-free lifestyle.
Addressing the students, DSWO Sachin Sharma highlighted the growing relevance of Yoga in the modern era. He underlined how Yoga connects the mind, body and spirit, encouraging youth to adopt a healthy and purposeful lifestyle.
The program concluded with all participants taking a pledge against drug abuse, reinforcing their commitment to a drug-free society. The event was also attended by SI Jarnail Singh from the Police Department, faculty members of Polytechnic College and staff of the Social Welfare Department.
