DODA: In the run-up to Eid-Ul-Adha, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anil Kumar Thakur conducted an extensive market inspection drive today in the main market area of Doda town to ensure strict adherence to market regulations by local traders. He was accompanied by the Station House Officer (SHO), Tehsildar, Executive Officer, Municipal Council, Food Inspector, and other concerned officials.
The inspection focused on addressing key civic and regulatory issues including footpath encroachments, improper sanitation, and violations by commercial establishments. Several shopkeepers were penalized on the spot for non-compliance with the prescribed norms. Encroachments on public footpaths were identified and promptly cleared to ensure uninterrupted pedestrian movement.
Taking serious note of repeated violations, the ADC instructed concerned officers to intensify inspection drives throughout the town. He emphasized the importance of market discipline, public safety, and hygiene standards, especially during the festive season.
The ADC also urged shopkeepers and vendors to adhere to the regulatory norms and extend full cooperation to the administration in maintaining a clean, safe, and obstruction-free environment for the general public.
