JAMMU: The People's Hut Foundation, in a collaborative effort with the Airport Authority of India (AAI) Jammu, successfully organized a Free Multi-Speciality Medical Camp today under its "Mobile Health Clinic Program" at the Jammu Airport. The day-long camp focused on providing essential medical check-ups and medicines to the dedicated airport and airline staff.
The free medical camp was inaugurated by Sh. Sanjeev Kumar Garg, Worthy Airport Director, Airport Authority of India Jammu, alongside Dr. Rohit Koul, Director and CEO of People's Hut Foundation. The initiative received vital support from Ujala Cygnus JK Medicity, Sharp Sight Eye Hospital Jammu, the Directorate of Ayush J&K, and SOTTO J&K, underscoring a broad commitment to public health. Sh. Sanjeev Kumar Garg, the esteemed Airport Director of the Airport Authority of India (AAI) Jammu while inaugurating the camp applauded the diligent efforts of the People's Hut Foundation for their consistent work in organizing crucial community medical camps and added we all have a role to play in contributing back to the society and we should come forward and contribute to the humanitarian cause.
This camp, part of the People's Hut Foundationâs ongoing "Mobile Health Clinic Program," exemplifies the organization's dedication to enhancing the well-being and healthcare accessibility of citizens, particularly in Jammu & Kashmir. Patients received consultations from a wide range of specialist doctors, including Physicians, Physiotherapists, Oncologists, Eye Specialists, Dentists, and Orthopaedic specialists, complemented by various diagnostic services. This comprehensive approach ensured a wide array of medical issues could be addressed efficiently.
The seamless coordination of the event was managed by Ayushmaan Sharma and Suhaib Nasir Khan, Terminal Managers of Airport Authority of India. This initiative by the NGO Peopleâs Hut Foundation highlights its multifaceted role in the region, extending beyond traditional aid to include significant humanitarian and social welfare activities.
Dr. Rohit Koul, Director and CEO of the People's Hut Foundation, emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, "The availability of specialist consultations marks a significant step towards improving healthcare access for individuals who often face challenges in accessing quality medical care. We are committed to bringing essential medical services closer to communities." A total of 146 patients benefited from the free medical services provided during the camp.
Expert medical teams contributed significantly to the camp's success and included Ujala Cygnus JK Medicity provided specialist doctors including Dr. Jaspreet Singh, Dr. Harsheen Bali, Dr. Richu Sharma, alongside their management staff Mr. Dinesh Sharma and Mr. Ritvik Mahajan.Sharp Sight Eye Hospital Jammu offered comprehensive ophthalmological services, with the support of Rahul Kumar, Showket Razaq Bhat, and Deepak Kumar.SOTTO J&K was represented by Dr. Irfan Ahmad Lone, Transplant Coordinator.The Ayush department also provided their valuable services under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Nuzhat Bashir Shah, Director Ayush, and DAO Jammu Dr. Vandana Dogra. The Ayush medicine distribution camp was meticulously organized by Dr. D.K Sharma, Dr. Arun Sharma, Smt. Jyoti Sharma, and Pharmacist Mr. Ankit.
During the inauguration, dignitaries urged residents to take full advantage of these Multi-Speciality Medical Camps. The event garnered widespread appreciation and lauded the organizers for making essential healthcare accessible right at their doorstep.
