KISHTWAR: A plantation drive was conducted at historic Chowgan Ground, Kishtwar under the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" Government of India initiative, commemorating the International Year of Cooperatives. The event was organised by the Cooperative Department in collaboration with the Municipal Council Kishtwar under the guidance of Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Kishtwar, Mr. Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal.

The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sharma as the Chief Guest, who emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and the significant role cooperatives and urban bodies play in promoting sustainable and community-driven development. He appreciated the noble concept of dedicating a tree to one’s mother, symbolising deep respect for both motherhood and Mother Earth. A large number of saplings were planted during the drive, reflecting strong community participation and a collective commitment to environmental preservation.
