NYKS holds Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament - State Round at BRS Auditorium

JAMMU: Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Jammu & Kashmir organised State level “Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament” today on 27-03-2025 at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu. The event held under the aegis of MY Bharat initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India witnessed participation of youth from seven nodal districts viz Jammu, Srinagar, Udhampur, Rajouri, Anantnag, Doda and Baramulla. In the event aimed at hearing the voice of youth through deliberations, young minds were engaged in discussions to share their vision for Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

At the outset, State Director Nissar Ahmed Butt welcomed the jury members by presenting bouquet followed by the welcomed address by DYO Jammu Nitin Hangloo. After the traditional lamp lightening ceremony, the participants spoke on the topic 75 years of Indian constitution: A journey of rights, duties and progress; The 11 Sankalp of Samvidhan Divas: A pledge to strengthen India’s constitutional values which was adjudged by Dr. Ashok Aima (Former Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Jammu), Prof. Garu Ram Bhagat (MLA Suchetgarh), Ms. SapnaKotwal JKAS (Secretary, J&K Pahari Advisory Board), Sh. Subash Gupta (Retd. Sessions Judge and Former Member JKPSC) and Dr. JavedRahi (Renowned author and writer).

The valedictory session was presided over by Sh. Anand Jain, IPS (ADGP Armed J&K) along with Sh. Vikram Randhawa (MLA Bahu).The Chief Guest Sh. Anand Jain in his Presidential Address, congratulated Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for organising the event and promoting the concept of Viksit Bharat. He further motivated the youth to engage in constructive activities and be responsible citizens.Vikram Randhawa while presenting his remarks appreciated the initiative of the Government of India in bringing the voices of the youth at the National Platform and giving them opportunity to present their ideas on important topics like Viksit Bharat.

It is pertinent to mention that the top 3 candidates will participate in the National Level event that will be held at the Parliament of India on 1st and 2nd of April, 2025. The proceedings of the event were carried out jointly by DrGurpreet Kour NSS PO GCW Parade and MsSuhani.
