SRINAGAR: Continuing with its effort to have people abreast with new laws, Police in Shopian under the supervision of SSP Shopian Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary-IPS conducted awareness programme on three new criminal laws at Ahmadiya Public School Reshnagri Shopian.
The initiative that has been launched across the UT aims at educating the general public, particularly students, about recent amendments made in criminal laws and to make them updated with the legal framework. On the occasion, SP Hqrs Shopian, Sr PO Shopian, SHO PS Herpora and Incharge Police Post Reshinagri spoke on length about the new laws.
During the session, Police officers while explaining the essence of new laws and clarifying their implications stressed the importance of adherence to legal statutes for maintaining societal order. The programme saw active participation from students, youths and respectables of the area who engaged in interactive discussions, asked questions, and sought clarifications on the legal provisions presented.
These efforts reflect the commitment of police in fostering an informed and law-abiding community. Local populace hailed the efforts of Police for arranging such awareness programmes. The senior officials on the request of locals assured them of organising such programmes in future also.
