PULWAMA: As part of the ongoing 36th National Road Safety Month, the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Pulwama launched a road safety awareness campaign in Pulwama town on Thursday amid light snowfall. The event focused on promoting helmet use among two-wheeler riders. During the campaign, new helmets were distributed to motorcyclists who were already wearing helmets, while old helmets were collected and redistributed to riders without proper headgear.

The ARTO, Basharat Mehmood actively participated in the enforcement drive, emphasizing the critical importance of adhering to traffic rules to ensure everyone’s safety. He urged bike riders to recognize their collective responsibility in improving traffic management. While acknowledging that altering driving behavior takes time, the ARTO stressed the significance of education in bringing about long-term changes to road safety.
