SRINAGAR: Cracking a whip on illegal mining of minerals, Police have arrested 02 persons and seized 02 vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Sopore. A police team led by Incharge Police Post Fruit Mandi, in collaboration with the Geology and Mining department have seized 02 vehicles (tippers) & arrested 02 individuals identified as Bilal Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Rasool Dar resident of Khadniyar Baramulla and Zahoor Ahmad Malik son of Abdul Aziz Malik resident of Taki Sultan Baramulla involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Sopore.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are appealed to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
