• Urges responsible water use, promoting sustainable practices for efficient water management

SRINAGAR:  On the occasion of World Water Day 2025, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, today administered the Water Pledge (Jal Shapath) to the Officers and officials here at the meeting hall of the DC Office Complex.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that World Water Day is observed to raise awareness and inspire action towards water conservation. He said that the water pledge on this day is aimed at creating a sense of collective responsibility and commitment towards responsible water use and promoting sustainable practices for efficient water management.

The DC also called one and all to reiterate the pledge to save every drop of water and work towards saving water in all ways possible at our homes and at the community level as well so that our future generations do not suffer for want of the water. He maintained that it is our religious, social and legal obligation to ensure judicious use of water, so everyone should adhere to it for a social cause and coming generations.
