Historical big leaps have transformed the destiny of the respective countries at different time intervals. Estranged is the history of US- an amalgam of different races widely divided into the Blacks and the Whites. The Whites as super power not only ruled the natives but also dominated weaker nations. Destiny changed the age old perception when a Black occupied the ‘White House’ defying the claims of the Whites, giving a sever blow to believers of super races. This happened in a country recognised as super power while the countries world over took pride in wresting their authority with this super power.
Irving Wallace in his fiction, “The Man,’ gives thorough description of circumstances which led Douglass Dilman , a Black senate, to rise to become first Negro President of United States. Douglass synonym of Martin Luther King, who became first black to reside in the White House, proved a towering personality, had struggled hard to reach the goal defeating racial opponents.
2014 Lok Sabha elections in India prepared ground in India to prove capability of a commoner to become Prime Minister of the country. Five years was testing time, a time to prove the worth of a chaiwala, a commoner to lead the Nation to the path of Development. The road to success was not smooth. It was bumpy road, full of pitfalls , rocky , at times muddy infested with the termite of rampant corruption and scams and scamsters. Committed to serve Nation, Modi had to convince all and sundry- big and small houses, traders, citizens, party stalwarts, his seniors within the party and the organisation he came from, political hawks, of his capabilities and the issues he aimed at. This indeed was herculean task to get accepted as lone who can change the fate of the millions.
Pre-2014 elections, was the period, remember, the country was passing through the most difficult times misgoverned by the ruling elite class least concerned with the woes of public. Economy served business interests of the ruling elite through the remote controlled Prime Minister. Most glaring narratives reflected inflation at 18%, safety of women was mocked at witnessing unprecedented rise in rapes, terrorism spread its wings to crush patriotism. Casual responses from the ruling Government of that time and several scams under the nose of Manmohan Sing had created situation that people lost trust on political parties. Certainly a change was required.
This was the time when people looked towards Modi who transformed Gujrat brilliantly as Chief Executive. People found a Masiha in him who could rescue the Nation . This was “The Man” who has rescued the Nation from the clutches of dynasty rule. Since 2014, people are feeling safe.Post 2014 elections, Modi as Prime Minister, has shown much more ability unexpected from the level what he had inherited. This Man created a base for “Vikas” after 2014 elections. Last five years also show his inner strength well summarised as “ he comes to a decision, arrives at a judgment, entirely devoid of prejudices, with certain emotions towards every problem commonly people face.” Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas became his passion. One wonders his capacity and capability to reach out to most neglected sections. None, before him, had such a large following, Rallies he addresses comprise of lacs and lacs of admirers not in just thousands. He lives in hearts of people .He is a man of masses.
His belief and actions, knowingly or unknowingly, speak similar thoughts of Black leader, ”in a composite Nation like ours made up of almost every variety of human family, there should be before the law, no rich no poor, no black no white, but one country , one citizenship equal rights and equal destiny for all.” This synthesis I feel , has been projected in all the schemes meant for the common people and poor people. This is projected in the long list of Yojanas meant to transform the lives of the people in New India.
2019 Lok Sabha elections are being viewed as take off stage for economy with wings. The class who played with the sensitivities of the country for decades, find it extremely difficult to survive without power. They should by now understand that their role is over. Power has shifted from the family rule to the commoners. Second term to “The Man’ will decisively raise the pillars of prosperity contrary to the family rule which has become a liability now. A system which cannot cater to the genuine requirements of the common people needs to be over thrown. The rulers who never hesitated to amass wealth at the cost of country need to be rejected. “The Man” in India is already on the job throwing out the dynasty rule to change the destiny of the country.
