JAMMU: Nestled amidst the breathtaking Himalayas, the Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM Jammu) stands as a beacon of excellence, shaping the future of management education, business, and society. Established in 2016, by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, IIM Jammu began its journey from transit campus at Canal Road. From its modest beginnings with just 47 students in 2016, the Institute has grown exponentially, currently catering to over 1200 students across various programs.
Under the leadership of Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, the Institute embarked on a journey with the construction of its new campus in Jagti. Spanning 200 acres and built at a project cost of Rs. 500.91 crores, the new campus reflects IIM Jammu's commitment to providing world-class infrastructure conducive to holistic development of student. The new campus has been completed in record time, boasting state-of-the-art facilities, including smart classrooms and the "Nalanda", a modern library, fostering an environment of academic pursuit and innovation.
On the occasion of the inauguration of the New Campus, Prof. Sahay, mentioned “IIM Jammu’s vision is to develop leaders and entrepreneurs, aiming to motivate students from job seekers to job creators through practical exposure and industry collaborations. Despite being the youngest of IIMs, IIM Jammu has earned recognition, ranking 15th overall among all, IIMs in the NIRF Rankings 2023.
The Institute offers MBA, Executive MBA, Ph.D, MBA in Hospital Administration and Healthcare Management jointly with AIIMS Jammu and IIT Jammu, Dual Degree Programme (B. Tech +MBA) with IIT Jammu. Driven by its vision to develop global leaders and entrepreneurs, IIM Jammu is committed to serving as a catalyst for positive change in the U.T of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The inauguration of the new campus by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi signifies the Institute's unwavering commitment to excellence, societal impact, and economic development.”
Adding further, he mentioned, “The Centre for Diversity and Inclusion reflects IIM Jammu's dedication to providing a safe environment for marginalized communities to explore entrepreneurship. In a short span the Institute has been spearheading impactful programs like the Community Leadership Program, Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship Programme, and the establishment of Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Skill Development, IIM Jammu aims to foster socio-economic development and empower communities.
Through Initiatives such as the Community Leadership Program aimed at empowering youth with essential leadership skills, while collaborations like the STEM program with SIDBI promote grassroots entrepreneurship. The Education Leadership Training Programme for College Principals of Jammu and Kashmir enhances education quality in Jammu and Kashmir, showcasing IIM Jammu's holistic approach to education and societal impact.”
